PUBLIC FACILITIES

The ecopavillion of Diamniadio is an experimental building commissioned by the ministry of environment in Senegal. It was designed by Craterre and executed under the supervision of Worofila. It is built using earth and Typha which is a type of water reed, found in water bodies in the North of Senegal and possesses excellent insulation properties. We used woven typha panels and external walls to protect them from the sun, on the ceilings to provide acoustic absorption and we also mixed it with clay in order to produce adobe bricks with an enhanced thermal insulation.
